Superboy's outfit has way too many contrasting shades and textures. Why do they keep trying to make his costume so ornate? It should be clean and simple.

The Jim Shooter/Mike Grell era is particularly good. It's been collected in Legion of Super-Heroes Archives Volume 10 - 12. Showcase Presents: Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 5 also collects these issues, but they're more fun in color.

A large chunk of Levitz's run (in particular with Giffen) was what hooked me back in the day. Your mileage may vary thereafter but I liked it well enough.

Newsarama has unlettered pages from Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 and #2.  We see a red head woman walking through the Heroes Exhibit. Maybe my Lana-Lang-is-the-immortal theory is correct?  There are several preview pages at the link above.

I second what Andreas and TIP have recommended. And I would add the run between Shooter / Grell and Levitz / Giffen. I don't remember who wrote them (Levitz maybe?) but some were illustrated by Jim Sherman and Pat Broderick. I remember those being pretty fun to read.

I haven't read any LSH since the Levitz / Giffen run ended. So I don't know if anything since then is worth checking out.

The entirety of Abnett/Lanning's run was also pretty great.

OH!

And Geoff John's/Gary Frank's SUPERMAN AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES is great too.

John's/Perez's LEGION OF THREE WORLDS too.
